Pixelscan proxy checker privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pixelscan (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal data when you use the Pixelscan Proxy Checker (the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to operate and improve the Service.

1.1 Information You Provide

When you register or use Pixelscan, we may collect:

  • Email address
  • Account details (such as user ID, subscription status, and preferences)
  • Information you provide when contacting support

1.2 Technical & Usage Data

We may automatically collect:

  • IP address (for security, abuse prevention, and diagnostics)
  • Browser and device information
  • Proxy-related data submitted for analysis (IP address, port, protocol)
  • Usage logs related to your use of the Service, such as the time of a check and the feature used

This data relates to your own connection to the Service. It is separate from the proxy data described in Section 1.3.

1.3 Proxy Check Data

When you submit a proxy for checking, your input may contain a host or IP address, a port, a protocol and, optionally, authentication credentials (username and password). We handle this input as follows:

  • Proxy IP address: used only during the check to determine the proxy’s provider, location, type and quality. We do not store the proxy IP address once this information has been determined.
  • Proxy credentials: automatically removed from your input when it is processed, before anything is stored or written to logs.  We never store proxy credentials.

At the time of the check, we determine and store the following results, linked to your account:

  • Provider: the network operator or organisation behind the proxy, including its Autonomous System Number (ASN)
  • Geolocation: the country, region and city associated with the proxy
  • Proxy type: for example residential, mobile or datacenter
  • Quality: connection speed, availability and fraud/risk score
  • Port and protocol: and the date and time of the check

1.4 Data We Do Not Collect

We do not store proxy credentials, and we do not request or obtain access to your third-party accounts.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to:

  • Provide proxy checks, including provider and ASN, geolocation, proxy type, quality assessment and fraud score
  • Store your proxy check results so you can view your check history
  • Authenticate users and manage subscriptions
  • Communicate service updates, billing notices, and support responses
  • Improve Service accuracy, performance, and reliability
  • Prevent abuse and unauthorized use
  • Comply with legal obligations

Pixelscan does not sell personal data.

For EU/EEA users, we process data based on:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the Service to you. This covers performing proxy checks, determining proxy metadata from the IP address, storing results in your check history, managing your account and subscription, and sending service and billing notices.
  • Consent: for marketing emails. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, analytics)
  • Legal obligations, where applicable

4. Data Storage & Security

We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards, including:

  • Encrypted connections
  • Secure infrastructure
  • Restricted access to user data
  • We also build data minimisation into the Proxy Checker:
  • Credentials are removed from proxy input when it is processed, before any storage or logging.
  • Proxy IP addresses are discarded once the provider, location, type and quality have been determined.
  • Application logs are filtered so that raw proxy input is not recorded.

No system is fully secure, and absolute protection cannot be guaranteed.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Service
  • Maintain billing and compliance records
  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

Users may request account deletion at any time.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data.

Data may be shared only with:

  • Trusted service providers (hosting, payment, email)
  • Authorities when legally required

All third parties are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Request data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies to:

  • Maintain login sessions
  • Support subscription functionality
